Nordweld tank building systems – Innovative tank construction solutions

Nordweld provides innovative and fully mechanized tank erection systems to optimize construction efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance worksite safety. Our tank jacking systems utilize top-down construction technology, ensuring all work is performed at ground level, minimizing the need for scaffolding and cranes.
The Nordweld tank building system uses electromechanical lift jacks, which can be operated individually or simultaneously from a central control system. The tank rotation process is fully automated and monitored via remote control, which allows the speed and direction of rotation to be adjusted.
We offer two tank erection systems adapted to various tank sizes, materials, and construction site conditions:
Standard system with Roller Beds
- Ideal for carbon steel (CS) and stainless steel (SS) tanks built from pre-rolled plates,
- Tank diameter: from 7 m up to 50 m,
- Tank rotation: the tank rolls on roller beds, ensuring precise alignment during construction,
- Mechanized welding: MIG/MAG, SAW, Plasma / Arc TIG,
- Safety: all work is performed at ground level, eliminating the risk of working at heights,
- Top-down method: construction starts from the roof, protecting against weather conditions and preventing the barrel effect.
Additional features:
- It can be combined with a Vertical Bending Machine + Decoiler / Plate Track for processing flat plates,
- Suitable for heavier and thicker tanks,
- Temporary welded lifting beams are required for the shell attachment during the erection process.
Advanced system with Wheel Trolley
- Ideal for tanks constructed from flat plates or steel coils,
- Tank diameter: up to 35-40 m,
- Tack welding is performed simultaneously during plate feeding, improving efficiency,
- Mechanized welding: MIG/MAG, SAW, Plasma / Arc TIG,
- There is no need for lifting beams (only the last course), reducing assembly time and costs,
- Tank rotation: enables construction in limited spaces, ensuring easy material handling.
Additional features:
- Tack Weld Stand ensures precise alignment and fitting of horizontal joints,
- Vertical Bending Machine + Decoiler / Plate Track enables on-site material processing,
- The ideal solution for large stainless-steel tanks that require high precision and quality control.
