WHITE WATER SILO: 5000 Cubic Meters – project in the UK
In 2017, our advanced equipment was used for the construction of a white water silo in the United Kingdom.
Silo specifications
The silo featured impressive dimensions and the use of the highest quality materials:
- Diameter: 16.3 m
- Height: 25 m
- Total Weight: 89 metric tons
Base materials:
- Duplex stainless steel 1.4462
- Austenitic stainless steel 1.4404
Innovative welding and assembly methods
The welding process used a mechanized MIG/MAG system with the use of solid wire and flux-cored wire (FCW).
Our standard assembly system ensured precise construction, including:
- Roller beds.
- Jacks.
- Tank rotators.
- Tack weld stands.
- Mechanized system for welding both circumferential and vertical joints, as well as stiffening rings.
Additional Features and Equipment
The silo’s roof was designed with:
- Handrails and walkways around the perimeter.
- Walkway leading to the center of the roof.
Stairs and platforms were delivered in collaboration with our business partner – TLC EU.
