In the spring and summer of 2017, the advanced Nordweld Tank Building System played a key role in constructing a storage tank with a capacity of 8,600 m³ in Sweden. This project was particularly challenging due to the construction of a new tank inside an old one with a diameter of 38 meters.

• Total Weight: 159 tons

Duplex stainless steel LDX 1.4162

Welding method:
Mechanized MIG/MAG (solid wire and flux-cored wire)

Advanced construction techniques
The use of our standard system, including a mechanized welding solution, allowed for minimal interference with the existing structure. Only one opening in the bottom ring of the old tank was needed for transporting the sheets. These sheets were loaded onto a roller bed and precisely rotated, ensuring accurate assembly.

Additional features
The new tank was equipped with elements enhancing safety and functionality:

• A roof with a handrail around the perimeter
• A 5 m² platform for servicing
• Access via a spiral stair tower provided by TLC
